According to El Botola, the Super Eagles goalkeeper is of significant interest to Raja Club Athletic during this transfer window.
Nwabali’s stock rose rapidly following his standout performances at the recent Africa Cup of Nations, where he played a crucial role in Nigeria’s journey to the final. After the tournament, he was linked with a number of clubs in Europe, but none of those moves materialised. Now, another suitor has emerged in the form of the Moroccan giants.
The Green Eagles have been relatively quiet in the market so far. According to Transfermarkt, Raja are yet to spend any money this window, having brought in Badr Benoun, Mohamed Al-Makahasi, and Nwabali’s compatriot Moses Orcuma — all on free transfers. This suggests the club may have sufficient funds available to make a move for the 29-year-old shot-stopper.
At present, Raja have only two goalkeepers on their books — El Mehdi Al Harrar and Yassine Zoubir. The arrival of the 27-capped international would represent a major reinforcement, especially considering the reputation he has built over the past year.
Having surrendered their Botola Pro Inwi crown to first-time winners RS Berkane last season, Raja are eager to return to the summit of Moroccan football. The same report claims the club are aiming to finalise Nwabali’s signing in the coming days.
