Mokwena has now found himself a club for the new season by joining the Algerian Ligue 1 champions.
The former Sundowns coach will now remain in North Africa, where he will replace Tunisian Khaled Ben Yahia.
Mokwena will also be back in the CAF Champions League this coming season after Alger won the league ahead of Josef Zinnbauer's JS Kabylie and Sead Ramovic's CR Belouizdad.
