Samuel Eto'o was speaking at Fecafoot's general assembly held in Mbankomo, Yaoundé, in what was expected to be the former Barcelona's final session before the elective general assembly, where he could pass on the torch, Afrik Foot reported.
The ex-Inter Milan forward took the opportunity to thank those who had been in close support of him during his controversial tenure that was littered with legal battles and fights with friends-turned-foes.
Not one to shy away from the controversy, Cameroon's record goalscorer admitted he held no regrets over his actions during his time as president and said he made decisions in the interest of football.
"It was never personal, and I do not regret any decision I made," Eto'o said.
"I made decisions that I believed were right for football," he added.
The 44-year-old then turned his attention to Indomitable Lions coach Marc Brys, who has clashed with Eto'o since his appointment in 2024.
Eto'o responded to the Belgian's comments that he should be forbidden from the dressing room by reminding the 63-year-old who was in charge.
"Eto’o doesn’t come into our dressing room, it’s forbidden," Brys said. Eto'o fired back sharply.
"They tell me I’m not allowed to train with the Lions. In which country?" he asked.

"They think I’m not allowed to enter the dressing room, when I’m the boss of the dressing rooms! My signature alone gives access to whomever I want in the dressing rooms. Read, dear brothers. It’s shameful. The person in question will surely take note," he concluded.
