One of Percy Tau's former sides has reportedly reached an agreement for the transfer for Mamelodi Sundowns' star Lucas Ribeiro Costa.

Qatar SC has reportedly reached an agreement with Masandawana for the Brazilian, who is expected to bring much-needed attacking quality to the side who struggled in the Qatar Stars League last season, according to Arabic outlet WinWin.
WinWin claim that an official announcement could come in the near future.
The 26-year-old's performances at the FIFA Club World Cup, where his solo goal against Borussia Dortmund won Goal of the Tournament, drew attention from club's all over the world, as Turkish side Trabzonspor and French team Saint-Etienne were also believed to be interested.
Ribeiro Costa's versatility up front will bring high quality to a Qatar SC side that has undergone a big transformation since the previous campaign, when they finished 10th, just two points above the relegation play-off spot.
The club hired Spanish coach Marquez Lopez and secured the signings of several players, including Joao Pedro from Al-Wasl, Faiz Selemani from Al-Riyadh, Lukas Kalvach from Viktoria Plzen, and Argentine defender Franco Russo.

The former SK Beveren forward will call time on his Sundowns career after two full seasons having joined in August 2023. He netted 37 goals and added 23 assist in 88 games, winning the Betway Premiership's top scorer and Player of the Year awards in 2024/25.
An attempt to reach out to Mamelodi Sundowns was made but no response was received at the time of publishing.
