The story
Steven Pienaar is set to don the blue of Everton and reignite his dynamic left-flank partnership with Leighton Baines in the club's Legends exhibition match on Saturday.
Pienaar represented in 229 matches, scoring 26 goals and providing 45 assists across his two stints in Merseyside.
The 43-year-old will look to turn back the clock to not only repeat his dynamic double-act with Baines against the AS Roma legends, but also reunite with midfielders James McCarthy and Gareth Barry.
Pienaar enjoyed plenty of highlights in Merseyside, with a standout being the 85th-minute equaliser at Old Trafford in the dramatic 4-4 draw, which prevented Sir Alex Ferguson's Manchester United from retaining the Premier League title in 2012, a moment "Schillo" recognises as his career highlight.
