Lorch's future remains up in the air following his return to Sundowns after the 2024/25 season. The former Orlando Pirates man spent the second half of the previous campaign on loan at the Moroccan giants, after fellow South African Rulani Mokwena had requested his services at Wydad.
Lorch shone during his stint with the Red Castle, picking up their Player of the Month award for March and putting in inspiring performances during the FIFA Club World Cup.
It has been claimed in recent weeks that Wydad were negotiating with Sundowns regarding a potential transfer until talks seemingly fell through regarding an ideal fee for the player.
However, according to Moroccan outlet Radio Mars, the 32-year-old could return to the Stade Mohammed V for the upcoming campaign.
An informed source at Radio Mars has revealed that Wydad's management has opened communications with someone close to Sundowns' club president to finalise a deal for Lorch.
The source added that Lorch has informed Sundowns of his desire to continue his career with Wydad.
Lorch proved to be a popular figure during his six-month loan, and his Club World Cup performances added to fans' desire to see him remain a Wydad player.
Meanwhile, Sundowns coach Miguel Cardoso reportedly remained mum on Lorch's future and said the club would decide his fate.
