At the time, sources close to the club indicated that Babina Noko were back in for the 32-year-old, who had just concluded a trophy-laden spell at the Buccaneers.
Now, it's official, Timm will don the Sekhukhune colours next season, following in the footsteps of Bradley Grobler, who was also recently announced by the club.
Timm's return to Sekhukhune has been years in the making.
Back in 2022, the Limpopo-based outfit were believed to have secured a pre-contract agreement with the midfielder while he was still at Marumo Gallants. However, that deal collapsed at the eleventh hour, and Timm shocked many by signing for Pirates instead.
That move paid dividends, Timm was central to Pirates’ midfield over three seasons, playing a crucial role in the club’s MTN8 and Nedbank Cup successes. Now, as Babina Noko aim to build a squad capable of competing at the highest level, they’ve gone back for a player they once considered a top target.
With Grobler and Timm both bringing leadership and big-match experience, Sekhukhune appear serious about stepping up next season. Timm’s composure on the ball, experience in continental competition, and ability to dictate play in midfield could prove invaluable.

His arrival is another major coup for Sekhukhune, who continue to make smart, experienced additions to a squad that has shown real promise in recent campaigns.
All eyes will now be on Timm to see whether his second chance with Babina Noko will be as fruitful as his spell in Soweto.
