Kimvuidi, named in Pirates’ official 34-man squad for the 2025/26 season, featured in Ashdod’s 2-0 Israeli Cup defeat to Hapoel Tel Aviv, despite neither the Buccaneers nor Ashdod announcing a move between the clubs.
Siya sources have now revealed that the 26-year-old had in fact not put pen to paper with Ashdod, although the the door is now wide open after his surprise cameo in Israel.
Kimvuidi landed in Ashdod just four days prior and was registered as a foreign player for the fixture, where his performance in midfield has seemingly convinced the club to move forward with signing him for the season.
Ashdod head coach Haim Silves, speaking after the game, admitted he was impressed by the midfielder’s showing.
“He impressed me. We will analyze things in depth, we don’t make decisions a minute after the game. But he is ‘from the industry’ that’s for sure…” said Silves.
Kimvuidi is understood to be still owned by Orlando Pirates, and Israeli clubs are allowed to use foreign players for "test matches" outside of the official league.
