Just weeks after it was reported that Marumo Gallants were considering a long-term deal for head coach Abdeslam Ouaddou, Siya sources have now revealed that the coach is set to part ways with the club.
Ouaddou, who joined Gallants in January when the team was sitting in 15th place on the log, is credited with steering the side to safety and completing his short-term mission of avoiding relegation.

However, it appears that talks over a contract extension have fallen through.
According to Siya sources, negotiations between Ouaddou and the club have not been successful, and the coach is now expected to leave after Gallants’ final two fixtures of the season – against Chippa United and Magesi FC.
“As things stand, the coach will be leaving the club at the end of the season. Contract talks didn’t lead to an agreement, and he’s set to return to his home country, France, once Gallants complete their final games. His mission was to save the club from relegation, and he has delivered on that,” a source close to the situation explained.

Despite his brief stay, Ouaddou’s impact at the club has been widely acknowledged. Under his leadership, Gallants showed improved organisation and resilience, earning critical points that ultimately lifted them out of the danger zone.
As the curtain draws on the 2023/24 Betway Premiership season, the club will now turn its attention to securing a new head coach who can build on the foundation laid by the former Moroccan international.
