Rushine De Reuck’s overseas adventure looks set to be cut short, with reports in Israel stating that the Mamelodi Sundowns defender is on his way back to South Africa following an underwhelming stint with Maccabi Petah Tikva.

The 29-year-old centre-back joined the Israeli side on loan in January this year, hoping to reignite his career after finding game time hard to come by at Chloorkop.
But the move has not gone according to plan so far.
De Reuck managed just four appearances during his brief stay at the Ligat Ha'Al outfit, with a combination of injuries and tactical shifts within the squad limiting his opportunities to make an impact. It’s a frustrating chapter for a player who, not long ago, was regarded as one of the most promising defenders in the PSL.
When at Sundowns in the past, his path had been equally complicated.
With the reigning league champions continuing to reinforce their squad with high-profile additions, De Reuck has seen his minutes dwindle over the last few seasons. His last competitive appearance for the club came in December against Richards Bay, and even then, it was clear he had fallen down the pecking order.
The former Maritzburg United man was once a regular in the national team setup and remains highly rated in local circles. A move back home could provide the reset he desperately needs to reclaim the form that earned him a spot in the Bafana Bafana squad.
The Siya crew has since been informed by a source close to the player that De Reuck is in South Africa to see a dentist with just a few matches remaining in the Israeli campaign. However there are also rumours that the soccer player was spotted training with Sundowns.
What remains to be seen next season, is whether De Reuck will be reintegrated at Sundowns, loaned out again, or move on permanently.
