The story
The rivalry between former Premier Soccer League coaches Rulani Mokwena and Sead Ramović is set to be reignited in Algeria during the 2025-26 season.
This comes after Mokwena was announced as the reigning Algerian Ligue 1 champions, Mouloudia Club Alger's coach (MC Alger), late on Sunday night.
Ramović is the coach of CR Belouizdad, where former Cape Town City striker Khanyisa Mayo plays, having left Tanzanian side Yanga SC late last year.
Mokwena and Ramović exchanged verbal jabs when they were in charge of Mamelodi Sundowns and TS Galaxy, respectively, last year.
The two young coaches have taken shots at each other, with Mokwena once referring to Ramović as an attention seeker, while the former German goalkeeper filed a defamation lawsuit in May last year.
The feud began when Galaxy defeated Sundowns in the Carling Knockout Cup two seasons ago. Mokwena expressed his frustration, stating that his team lost due to several key players being away on national duty with Bafana Bafana.
Ramović perceived this comment as Mokwena discrediting his team, especially considering that the match was emotionally charged and included a controversial challenge from Bongani Zungu on Kaizer Chiefs legend Bernard Parker.
Here's a collection of Ramovic and Rulani's snapiest moments at each other in press conferences:
