The story
Orlando Pirates stunned many fans on Sunday by confirming that their young attacker, Mohau Nkota, secured a move to the Saudi Pro League.
Nkota will leave South African shores and make the switch to the Saudi Arabian top-flight league, Ettifaq Club, where he’ll share a change room with the likes of Georgino Wijnaldum and Moussa Dembele.
"Skuta Baba", as he's affectionately known by some of his teammates, made 39 appearances, netting seven goals and registering five assists in the process in his debut campaign in professional football.
Nkota is currently with the Pirates camp on their pre-season tour to Spain, and in reflecting on the move with former Bucs midfielder-turned-football content creator, Michael Morton, the Bafana Bafana winger reserved some lovely words for the Pirates supporters.
"I wanted to say thank you to the Orlando Pirates fans for being there for me and for supporting me all the way. I know I played one season, but I'm going to miss you guys. I'm going to show up for you from the other side, thank you," shared Nkota.
