Real Madrid 'Eye' Move For Out-Of-Favour Man Utd Star

Real Madrid 'Eye' Move For Out-Of-Favour Man Utd Star

Real Madrid are reportedly keen on signing a out-of-favour Manchester United star.

Real Madrid are reportedly considering a move for one of Manchester United’s out-of-favour stars.

While players such as Jadon Sancho, Alejandro Garnacho and Antony have been on the transfer list for much of the current window, the demotion of Kobbie Mainoo within the Red Devils’ squad has come as a surprise to many.

The England international rose through the ranks at the record Premier League champions, establishing himself as a key member of the side. He even scored in United’s FA Cup final triumph over Manchester City in the 2023/24 campaign before starting for the Three Lions in the UEFA European Championship final against Spain just weeks later.

However, the 20-year-old now appears to have fallen out of favour under Ruben Amorim. The Stockport-born midfielder has not played a single minute in United’s opening two league fixtures – against Arsenal and Fulham – and, according to the Daily Mail, this has put clubs such as Real Madrid on high alert.

Their city rivals Atletico Madrid are also said to be keen on luring the youngster to Spain, although the same report suggests both Madrid sides would only be interested in securing him on a loan deal. United, though, are believed to be unwilling to sanction a temporary move, with Mainoo still having two years remaining on his contract.

According to The Athletic, Mainoo himself is open to leaving Old Trafford due to his lack of minutes under Amorim. It is understood that he would prefer a move abroad if he were to depart Carrington, but for now United expect him to remain at the club beyond next week’s transfer deadline.
