Rulani Mokwena's MC Alger have reportedly had their bid for Azam FC midfielder Feisal Salum turned down.

The South African tactician is eager to add more quality to his side ahead of the new Algerian Ligue Professionnelle 1 season. One of his main targets was former Mamelodi Sundowns forward Cassius Mailula, but a move for the 24-year-old now appears unlikely due to Toronto FC’s conditions for finalising a deal.
With that pursuit having failed to materialise, Mokwena has turned his attention elsewhere, and it is believed that his new priority is Salum. The Tanzanian international is coming off another brilliant campaign with Azam FC, where he is said to have scored 19 goals and registered five assists last season.
His exploits in the NBC Premier League have attracted interest from a host of African giants – Chiefs included – but, according to AfricaFoot, MCA have already tabled a bid in the region of $200 000 (R3 million).
The same report claims that the offer was rejected, with Azam considering it well below Salum’s true valuation.

Salum was recently part of the Taifa Stars squad that reached the quarter-finals of the African Nations Championship (CHAN). Following their elimination at the hands of Morocco, the players will now return to their clubs, and the 27-year-old attacking midfielder will be seeking clarity on his future amid mounting interest from across the continent.
