The 25-year-old moved to Saudi Pro League side Al-Hazem on a season-long loan deal after spending just one season with the reigning Tunisian Ligue 1 Professionnelle champions.
Mokwana's exit has paved the way for a new name to join the Taraji as they look to strengthen their squad ahead of the new campaign.
Esperance signed Algerian star Kessila Boualia from JS Kabylie, managed by former Orlando Pirates boss Josef Zunnbauer, on a four-year deal.
After five seasons in the first team, the player revealed he chose Esperance due to their ambitions to compete on the continent and globally, Foot Algerie reported.
"I chose to play for Espérance for several reasons," the 24-year-old said. "I know the team well, especially since I have faced them in several matches while playing for JS Kabylie."
He added, "Other factors encouraged me to choose Espérance, such as the presence of Algerians Youssef Belaïli and Mohamed Amine Tougai. Also, I can quickly adapt to the environment, as there’s not much difference between the Algerian league and the Tunisian league, which will make it easier for me to integrate quickly."
