Following his permanent move to Mamelodi Sundowns, Thembinkosi Lorch has yet to feature for the Red Castle, causing concern among fans who were excited to see the South African play for them again after his successful loan spell.
According to Le360, a source within the club has revealed that Lorch is set to undergo an intense physical training programme to get his physicality and fitness up to speed before the new season.
The sessions will be overseen by the technical and medical teams at the club to get Lorch's body ready for the season, to ensure he avoids any injuries this season. The sessions will also include tactical drills to integrate him into the squad's training.
Lorch's importance to Wydad cannot be understated following his impressive loan stint last season. Brought to Morocco by his former boss at Mamelodi Sundowns, Rulani Mokwena, he shone for the Moroccan giants and, after Mokwena departed, played a key role under Benhachem during the FIFA Club World Cup.
The 32-year-old will once again be a key feature for the club in their bid to regain the Botola Pro 1 title and compete for continental honours in the CAF Confederation Cup.
The former Orlando Pirates star is expected to feature in the club's upcoming friendlies in the hopes of being fit.
