Earlier this week, the speedy winger became one of the most expensive African footballers of all time after switching allegiances across London. The Right to Dream Academy graduate made the move from West Ham United to Spurs for a reported fee of €63.8 million (R1.3 billion), placing him at the top of this list.
Another high-profile Ghanaian to secure a move is Kamaldeen Sulemana. After Southampton’s relegation from the Premier League, the 23-year-old winger has taken his talents to Serie A, joining Atalanta.
In recent seasons, Nigerian forward Ademola Lookman has flourished at La Dea. The reigning CAF Men’s Player of the Year has become a key figure in Bergamo, and now Sulemana will be hoping to emulate his success following his €17 million (R354 million) switch to the Gewiss Stadium.
Like Kudus, Sulemana is also a graduate of the famed Right to Dream Academy. But they aren’t the only alumni making major moves this window—Simon Adingra is another. The Ivory Coast international recently completed a €24 million (R500 million) transfer from Brighton & Hove Albion to newly promoted Sunderland.
