In recent weeks, speculation has mounted over the Burkinabe midfielder’s future with the Moroccan giants.
The 29-year-old signed for the Red Castle on 1 June 2025, ahead of the FIFA Club World Cup. However, having played just nine minutes at the global showpiece, questions were raised over whether the club would finalise his permanent transfer before the alleged 10 July deadline set by Young Africans.
According to AfricaFoot, though, the record Botola Pro Inwi champions have had a change of heart and have opted to give Aziz Ki a second chance.
The 17-time capped Burkina Faso international now appears set to be part of the club’s plans for the new season, with the same report claiming that the club’s executives have convinced head coach Mohamed Amine Benhachem to give the player an opportunity to prove himself.
It is also understood that Aziz Ki’s willingness to lower his salary demands has contributed to Wydad’s decision to retain his services, with the attacking midfielder now believed to be poised to sign a long-term contract with the three-time CAF Champions League winners.
