The Blues were crowned victors of the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup after a dominant display in the final against one of the pre-tournament favourites, PSG.
Chelsea cruised to a commanding 3-0 win courtesy of a Cole Palmer brace and a third goal by new signing Joao Pedro.
However, there was a moment during the trophy presentation and lift that left most of the squad, notably Palmer, in a state of confusion.
American President Donald Trump was brought to hand out the medals to the Chelsea players during the ceremony, and he joined FIFA President Gianni Infantino to hand over the trophy to Chelsea captain Reece James.
As Infantino walked off the stage, he gestured for Trump to leave but the billionaire remained on stage to join Chelsea's celebrations. There was visible confusion among the Chelsea players.
Palmer was seen asking: "What's he doing?" and James asked Trump: "Can I lift it?" as he waited for Trump to exit the stage.
Speaking after the game, Palmer revealed his view on Trump joining the celebrations and admitted he was simply confused by it.
