Incoming Al Ahly coach Jose Riveiro has reportedly been monitoring Al Ahly's training sessions before formally joining the side.

The former Orlando Pirates boss left the Soweto side last week after he requested that the club release him from his contract early to join a new side.
His new club was revealed to be Egyptian giants Al Ahly and the official announcement was expected to be made shortly after departing the Buccaneers.
Previous reports from Egypt revealed that the club decided against announcing Riveiro's appointment until the end of the season as the club's form under interim coach Emad El-Nahhas has been good.

The club felt that Riveiro's announcement might distract the players as they remain one game away from securing the Egyptian Premier League title.
According to Sport El Watan, an Al Ahly source revealed that Riveiro is reportedly in Cairo to monitor the team ahead of his formal appointment.
"The coach has some observations because he has been closely following the team since his arrival from South Africa," the source said.
The source added that Riveiro supposedly had some comments for Egyptian goalkeeper Mohamed El-Shenawy.
"The coach has some comments on Mohamed El-Shenawy's performance and believes he has a better game than he currently has shown," the source said.

"He is a great goalkeeper and must have a performance that matches his name, history and the fact that he has previously achieved the best in Africa," he concluded.
