It has been a tough start to life in Egypt for the Spanish tactician, who left his former side, Orlando Pirates, for Al Ahly toward the end of last season.
Riveiro oversaw the team's poor FIFA Club World Cup campaign, where they failed to win a game at the tournament, and he has struggled so far this season with just one win and two draws in the Egyptian Premier League.
Despite an unbeaten start, the results and performances have not been convincing, and it has put Riveiro under increasing pressure from the fans.
According to One3, however, the 49-year-old still has the full support of the club's management officials.
An exclusive source revealed to the Arabic publication that Riveiro's position is secure for now, ahead of a tough match against Pyramids FC.
"José Rivero will continue in his position as normal regardless of the result of the Pyramids match," the source said.
"There is dissatisfaction with the performance and results, but we are waiting for the situation to improve in the upcoming matches and for the team to correct the mistakes, as we will not hold the coach accountable piece by piece."
