Mamelodi Sundowns are working behind the scenes to finalise their squad for next season and Soccer Laduma understands that they are not going to take up an option to keep one of their players.
The Tshwane giants brought in Lucas Suarez on loan in the January transfer window and while he initially impressed, Soccer Laduma understands that the club won't be taking up the option to make the deal permanent, which would open up a foreign spot for the club for next season.

Word reaching Soccer Laduma is that Suarez did not make enough of an impact in the short period he has been with the club to secure a new deal. Towards the end of the season, Sundowns head coach Miguel Cardoso preferred using Mosa Lebusa as the left-sided centre back ahead of Suarez, who had come under-fire for an error he made in the Nedbank Cup semi-final against Kaizer Chiefs, which Sundowns lost 2-1.
As things stand, Suarez is unlikely to sign a long-term deal with Sundowns and the club will be looking at their options in central defence, considering he is 30.
Sundowns also have other options in the likes of Keanu Cupido and Kegan Johannes in central defence.

The Brazilians have already let go of Rivaldo Coetzee and Sipho Mbule, while Suarez is one of the players who looks set to follow.
