New Al Ahly coach Jose Riveiro is currently gearing his team for the FIFA Club World Cup and preparations are well underway as players and staff have not taken the team's participation in the competition for granted.
According to Btolat, Al Ahly defender Karim Fouad expressed the importance of the competition.
"Matches in the Club World Cup are different," Fouad said.
"The whole world is watching you, and you raise the club's name worldwide and highlight our club's reputation on a global level. Every match in the Club World Cup is important to us, and we are not afraid of any opponent."
He continued: "The opening match of the Club World Cup is key and will give us strong motivation, but every match has its own importance. All matches are difficult and important."
Al Ahly plays the tournament opener against Lionel Messi's Inter Miami and the defender, who is likely to face the Argentinian frequently, revealed the plan to stop the eight-time Ballon D'Or winner.
"Messi, who now plays for Inter Miami, is a football icon — but we trust in God and leave our fate in His hands," Fouad said.
