One player who was away for the second part of the season is midfielder Lebohang Maboe, who spent some time at SuperSport United. While he was able to get game time with Matsatsantsa, there are no guarantees over his future at Sundowns, especially after the arrival of Jayden Adams in midfield earlier this year.
Maboe still has a contract with Sundowns and a decision on what happens next in his career is likely to be made during or after the Club World Cup.
The reason Maboe joined SuperSport was to get more game time and he got exactly that. There has been talk of SuperSport possibly being sold, but Soccer Laduma understands that the club is going to keep their top flight status and indications are that they would be keen on holding onto Maboe for next season, on loan from Sundowns.
