Grant Johnson and Andre Arendse.

There may be uncertainty surrounding the club, but SuperSport United have been given a date to return to start preparing for the new season, which has been revealed to Soccer Laduma.

The club had an incredibly difficult season in 2024/25, avoiding the play-offs in their final Betway Premiership match of the campaign against Golden Arrows. To top if off, players have had to go through a period of uncertainty due to reports suggesting that the club is up for sale.

As things stand, SuperSport players are meant to return this Saturday to pave the way forward for the upcoming season.

According to information received, management has assured players that the club is not up for sale and that they should be ready to start preparing for the new campaign in the next few days.

There is strong belief within the camp that the club will not be sold to a Bloemfontein Celtic consortium, but players will have to wait and see what happens in the coming weeks to be guaranteed that the Tshwane outfit will still exist.

Andre Arendse is expected to lead the side, but there is no guarantee at this stage that he will be the head coach.

Young defender Ime Okon is unlikely to form part of the preparations for the upcoming campaign, as he is expected to join a new club, with interest coming both locally and in Europe.

Soccer Laduma contacted SuperSport United for official comment on the situation but the club had not responded.
