The success of former Orlando Pirates head coach Jose Riveiro has sparked the local vs foreign debate regarding his successor.
The Pirates hot seat is currently vacant, with the Spaniard's successor yet to be announced ahead of the pre-season tour of Spain.
Assistant coach Mandla Ncikazi oversaw the last few games of the season, after the soft-spoken coach left the club to join Al Ahly before the curtain was closed on the campaign.

Given Riveiro's success at the Buccaneers, after he finished second in the Betway Premiership standings in each of his three seasons and won five trophies, there is a sentiment that the Ghosts have to up their game in the type of a coach they should appoint, to carry on the legacy left by the Vigo native tactician.
Soccer Laduma spoke to former Upington City and Moroka Swallows coach Brandon Truter, on whether there are any local coaches capable of carrying on the winning culture instilled by the Spaniard at the Soweto giants.
"I think Mandla is very capable, he's been with Jose since he arrived. He's very capable to coach Pirates, with the right structures around him, with the belief and support from management," Truter said, weighing in on the matter.

"I think there are other capable local coaches as well. Pitso (Mosimane), Rulani (Mokwena) not attached yet. There are local qualifying coaches up to standard who can coach the bigger teams in the country.
"Rulani took Sundowns to another level after Pitso. He changed their playing style completely. He formed the philosophy and identity with the club we're still speaking of today," Truter reasoned.
"Because Pitso's football and Rulani's football are not the same. So there are some good local coaches that should be given some time and trusted with the bigger jobs as well," the former Sekhukhune United mentor added.
