The Orlando Pirates dressing room could carry the fate of forward Monnapule Saleng, if he fixes his differences with the management when he returns from loan.

Pirates had almost all the components to challenge Mamelodi Sundowns for the league title up until the final matchday but came short.

The Soweto giants finished 12 points behind champions Sundowns and looking back, the absence of Saleng from early December last year could have arguably played it's part with the Ghosts not maintaining their strong start.

Pirates have since announced that Saleng will go on loan to newly-promoted Orbit College for the new campaign.

Kaizer Chiefs legend Brian Baloyi has revealed how they dealt with the absence of a key player, Jabu Pule (Mahlangu), during his peak at Chiefs.

"When he (Jabu Pule) disappeared the first time and we lost the league, the next season he disappears again. So when he disappeared again with (Patrick) Mbuthu and Isaac Mabotsa, when he came back there was a meeting with all the players and the chairman," Baloyi rolled back the years on iDiski YouTube Channel.

"The chairman says, 'Okay, Jabu is back, we spoke to him...' I'm the captain, I spoke to Thabo (Mooki) and (Patrick) Mabedi, 'Let's ask the chairman and the coach to excuse us'. So we said to Jabu, 'Okay, what's your problem?' He said, 'No, I spoke to the Chairman...' We told him, 'No, you're not playing with the Chairman, you're playing with us'.

"'Tell us the problem so we can help you!' He said, 'No, no'. I spoke to the Chairman and said to the guys, 'If you (Jabu) are not telling us what's your problem, your apology I'm not taking it'. I said to the Chairman and coach Muhsin, 'If Jabu is playing, I'm not playing!' About four, five senior players followed me. I told them (otherwise) he's not going to change," the former Bafana Bafana shot-stopper added.

Saleng, in addition to pressure from club supporters, could have the burden of winning over the Pirates dressing room, should his matter be resolved when he returns from loan.
