Saleng Loan Just The Start? More Pirates Stars Tipped For Orbit Move

With Monnapule Saleng having been loaned out to Orbit College FC for the 2025/26 season, more players from Orlando Pirates could be set to follow the same path.

The Buccaneers confirmed the winger’s move on their official website on Wednesday:

“Meanwhile, Orlandopiratesfc.com can also confirm that an agreement has been reached with Orbit College FC for the loan of Monnapule Saleng. The 27-year-old will spend the 2025/26 season with the newly crowned outfit.”

This development comes as Pirates continue their high-intensity pre-season camp in Marbella, Spain, with a 32-man squad.

However, with over 40 players still on the club’s books according to insiders, it’s understood that a few more exits are being considered before the season kicks off.

According to Siya sources, the Soweto giants are expected to sanction more loan deals in the coming weeks as they look to trim the squad and provide regular game-time for fringe players.

One of the players believed to be on the radar of Orbit College is Siyabonga Ndlozi, who has previously spent time with the club during their rise in the Motsepe Foundation Championship.

The young defender could reunite with familiar faces in the North West should the move materialise.

The Buccaneers are believed to value their relationship with Orbit, who were recently promoted to the Betway Premiership and are aiming to build a competitive squad capable of holding their own in the topflight.

Meanwhile, despite losing Thabiso Monyane to arch-rivals Kaizer Chiefs in the current window, Pirates are not short of options at right back.

The club recently bolstered the position by signing Tshepo Mashiloane from Baroka FC, adding to the existing competition involving Deano van Rooyen, Bandile Shandu, and Thabiso Lebitso.

The technical team, led by new head coach Abdeslam Ouaddou, is expected to make final squad decisions based on performances during the Spanish tour, which includes several friendlies designed to test tactical systems and fitness levels.

As things stand, all indications are that Orbit College may not be done yet in terms of business with the Buccaneers – and further movement could be on the cards in the coming days.
