Sources in Kinshasa have confirmed that former AS Vita coach Abdeslam Ouaddou has successfully won his case against the Congolese giants, following a lengthy legal battle over wrongful dismissal.
Currently in Spain with his new club, Orlando Pirates, for a pre-season camp, the Moroccan tactician is reported to have received a favourable ruling from FIFA’s Dispute Resolution Chamber, nearly a year after he took the matter to world football’s governing body.

Reports in African media on Thursday indicated that AS Vita have now been officially sanctioned by FIFA, with the club ordered to pay approximately $180,000 (+/- R3 210 289,752) in unpaid wages and bonuses owed to Ouaddou. The ruling comes with a stern penalty — a transfer ban until the full amount is settled.
The case, which dates back to October 2024, stemmed from Ouaddou’s abrupt exit from the Kinshasa-based outfit under controversial circumstances. At the time, the coach alleged unfair treatment and non-payment of contractual dues, which prompted him to escalate the matter to FIFA.

A source close to the situation told Soccer Laduma:
“The former coach of AS Vita has won his case against the club and is set to smile all the way to the bank. He deserves it, as the club owed him a significant amount of money. That’s why he left in the first place — not because he wanted to, but because of the situation. He believed in the project, and it really was a strong one at one of Africa’s top clubs. But he’s not focused on the past. He’s now fully committed to another exciting project with Orlando Pirates, and he’s happy to be there.”
The ruling is a boost for Ouaddou, who has hit the ground running with the Buccaneers as they gear up for a demanding 2025/26 campaign.
