As previously reported by Soccer Laduma, French Ligue 1 club Stade Rennais were believed to be interested in Sundowns defender Malibongwe Khoza.
Now insiders close to both Sundowns and the player have indicated that Rennais are considering to make an offer in the region of R25 million for the South Africa defender. While it sounds like a massive amount in South Africa's rand currency, it is 1.2 million euros for the French club. Khoza is a player that's currently participating in CHAN and at the age of 21 is tipped to have a bright future ahead of him.
"It's believed the team from France is interested in him and is considering to make an offer of around R25 million. This could be a good move for both the team and the player for his career," the insider told Soccer Laduma.
A second insider stated that the potential signing of TS Galaxy defender Khulumani Ndamane to Sundowns, could open up the chance for Khoza to move.
"The club is looking at investing in youth, and that's why Mali (Khoza) was promoted to the senior team last season. But if he moves then the possibility of Ndamane coming in would be like a replacement for Sundowns. Yes, it's believed the offer from Rennais is close to being made," the second insider revealed.

TS Galaxy have pointed out that Ndamane is expected to be loaned back to them by Sundowns. It remains to be seen if the second insider is indicating whether Ndamane could be signed and used by the Brazilians this season, or whether Sundowns are looking at him contributing to the squad from 2026-27.
Soccer Laduma reached out to Sundowns and Stade Rennais for comment on the situation but the clubs had not responded by the time this report was published.
