A Premier Soccer League powerhouse is believed to be in an exercise of downsizing their squad ahead of next season with a striker apparently facing the exit.
Insiders close to the player and the club have indicated that Mamelodi Sundowns are set to release one of their strikers who has spent recent seasons on loan at different clubs.

Now the insiders have added that the Brazilians are set to release Nigerian-born striker Etiosa Ighodaro who spent the just ended season on loan at AmaZulu FC in Durban.
"Apart from downsizing the squad the club feels that they have enough strikers in the team at the moment and they don't want to just keep on loaning him out every season. That's why they are believed to want to release him at the start of next season. He is a very good player but the competition in the striking department is just too high and they want to give him the chance to be at a club where he would play regularly," the source told Soccer Laduma.
A second insider stated that there are several clubs in South Africa, North Africa and in Europe which have shown interest in the Nigerian-born striker already.
"At the moment we can't say where exactly he is going but he is not short of suitors. There has been interest even from AmaZulu FC and also Wydad Casablanca as well as teams in Belgium. So if Sundowns finally release him he will not struggle in finding a new club," the second source told the Siya crew.
After having been on loan at University of Pretoria, Chippa United and SuperSport United previously, the 23-year-old played many games and scored goals for Usuthu in the just ended season.
Soccer Laduma contacted Sundowns to comment on Ighodaro's future but the club had not responded by the time this report was published.
