A former Kaizer Chiefs defender has given reasons for supporters not to worry despite losing all their pre-season matches in the Netherlands thus far.
Amakhosi suffered their third pre-season defeat over the weekend, going down 1-0 to NEC Nijmegen, after they lost 4-0 to Utrecht and 2-1 to Vitesse. There are concerns for the club both in defence and attack, a big part of coach Nasreddine Nabi's problems last season as the Soweto giants finished outside the top eight for a second season running.

Former Amakhosi defender Mokete Tsotetsi is not reading too much into the club's results thus far and feels there is no need for supporters to panic yet.
"We saw the results from the friendly matches and remember there are some new players who are on board. Obviously, when you prepare, the results are not important. It’s about seeing if the team can gel and if there’s understanding. For now, I can say Chiefs supporters must not worry. The team is preparing. When you prepare, you don't focus more on results, you focus more on the planning and understanding of players, especially the new players because they are trying to build a solid squad for the upcoming Betway Premiership season," Tsotetsi said to Soccer Laduma.
"Yes, we've seen the results. It's early stages of preparations. I think their results closer to the start of the season will be more important. That's when the results will be more motivating to the team. Right now, it's about organising everything and making sure the new players understand his philosophy. Chiefs is still cooking."

It does not get any easier for Amakhosi with PEC Zwolle coming up next. Zwolle are a top flight club which finished 10th in the Dutch Eredivisie last season.
Their final pre-season match in the Netherlands will be on Wednesday against Twente, a club Bernard Parker and Kamohelo Mokotjo played for, finished sixth in the Dutch Eredivisie last season, scoring 62 goals in 34 matches. They will certainly test the Amakhosi defence.
