1. Style of play
Former coach Stuart Baxter did not have a fancy style of play but everyone associated Chiefs with counter-attacking football, which eventually got results.
Ex-mentor Ernst Middendorp, also almost won the league with a set-play, high-ball style.
It's no coincidence that the least successful coaches at Amakhosi did not have a defined style of play.

A club as big as Chiefs needs a functional midfield.
Nabi has not been able to find his pivot or playmaker right and as a result, the Glamour Boys could not find the synergy, whether going forward or building from the back.
The signing of Thabo Cele was perhaps opportunistic and the Tunisian mentor has not yet found a way to use him effectively.
3. Changing goalkeepers
Every successful team has a solid number one goalkeeper and not only that, a competent number two also.
At Amakhosi, with another season gone, no-one is really sure who is the number one shot-stopper and who is number two.
It's a very big problem that had a big role in the results that were fluctuating.

4. Goals conceded - defence problem? Before the final round of fixtures in the league, Chiefs had conceded 32 goals from 27 matches.
That's a big number to concede and to make it worse, they have not scored a lot either, 25 and as a result, have a negative goal difference of 7.
Injuries to key defenders such as Rushwin Dortley and Reeve Frosler coul have contributed to the Soweto giants chopping and changing at the back.
However, Amakhosi had a leaky defence from the start of the season, as they've struggled to keep clean sheets.
It's worrying that in the Premiership, only AmaZulu and Marumo Gallants have conceded more than Chiefs, before the final round or two of the league.
5. Captaincy
In the Nedbank Cup final, captain Yusuf Maart redeemed himself with a winning goal that ended the club's ten year trophy drought.
However, Maart receiving criticism throughout the season did not help the cause for Chiefs.
There is still question marks on who has the leadership qualities to lead Amakhosi.
The fact that Inacio Miguel, who was signed in the off-season, was given the armband in the absence of Maart, should raise eyebrows on the potential leaders in the Amakhosi squad.
