Golden Arrows head coach Manqoba Mngqithi revealed that he would welcome Rivaldo Coetzee to the club, but pointed out a factor that would make the move impossible.
Mngqithi worked with Coetzee at Mamelodi Sundowns and it’s no secret that the coach is a big admirer of the versatile player who is now a free agent after the reigning Betway Premiership champions decided against exercising the option in his contract.

Linked with both Golden Arrows and Tanzanian giants Simba SC recently, Coetzee is determined to find a new home, but Mngqithi believes it would be impossible for the KZN outfit to afford to have him on board.
“I like him a lot. But I don’t think he is in our bracket in terms of the package. As a player, I would welcome him any day because I like him a lot, but I just don’t want to make his life difficult because he would have to have to take 20 times pay cut in terms of what we can offer. As a player, everybody knows that I like him,” Mngqithi said to Soccer Laduma.
“He is a very intelligent player. Technically, he is unbelievable. He uses both left and right. The greatest reader of the game I have worked with. He is one boy that not many people know much about because he looks like he is a slower player when you are looking from a distance, but I think he is the fastest in terms of his anticipation. He sees things early, so that’s why everything always looks easy with Rivaldo. I believe in him so much. I think he is an interesting player.”
Mngqithi joined Arrows in the latter stages of last season on a contract until the end of June. His agent Mike Makaab had previously revealed to Soccer Laduma that he had not renewed his contract.

Speaking to Soccer Laduma, Mngqithi did not want to disclose if he has signed a new contract but indicated that he is looking forward to the season ahead, especially after their business in the transfer market.
“I am really to help the club to get it back to where it was or better. I must say it’s going to be an interesting season for Arrows. You will see. We have a good bunch of youngsters that we got from all over and some good senior players that we have signed that I think will set the stage alight.”
Arrows start their campaign this weekend with a clash against Siwelele FC at Dr Petrus Molemela Stadium.
