A return to Cape Town City could be on the cards for Mduduzi Mdantsane following his official release from Kaizer Chiefs.

According to Siya sources, the midfielder is being closely monitored by his former club who were relegated from the Betway Premiership last season, with a potential move back to the Mother City now being explored.
Mdantsane previously had a productive spell with City before his switch to Amakhosi, where he was expected to elevate his career.
However, things didn’t pan out as hoped for the 29-year-old at Naturena. After struggling for game time, he was sent out on loan to Richards Bay for the second half of last season but only managed three appearances.
Chiefs have now confirmed his release, as part of a wider squad reshuffle that has already seen Ranga Chivaviro, Njabulo Blom, Edmilson Dove, and Sabelo Radebe also depart.
Mdantsane is currently a free agent, and the door to a Cape Town City reunion, where he could help his former team regain promotion to the top flight, appears to be slightly ajar.
Soccer Laduma contacted Cape Town City for comment on interest in Mdantsane, but the club had not responded by the time this report was published.
