With Mamelodi Sundowns defender Khuliso Mudau reportedly unsettled at the club after the FIFA Club World Cup, one of Kaizer Chiefs' former captains believes Amakhosi should seize the opportunity.
Mudau had missed their MTN8 quarter-final fixture against Richards Bay on Sunday, a game which the Brazilians were 4-0 runaway victors.

Former Chiefs captain and defender Patrick Mabedi believes Mudau could be the missing piece in Amakhosi's defensive puzzle, if the Glamour Boys were able to sign him.
Speaking to Soccer Laduma in an exclusive interview, Mabedi, who coached Mudau during the early stages of his career at Black Leopards, stated that the right-back could be an exceptional signing for Chiefs.
"He is a very good player. If Chiefs sign him they could have found a missing link in not only their defence but the whole team. You know when I coached him at Black Leopards we used to use him either as a right back, right winger or even a central midfielder. That's how good he is. So, this could be the biggest move for Chiefs in recent times. Personally, I would encourage them to go for him," Mabedi told Soccer Laduma.
The former Malawi national team head coach further emphasized that Mudau's technical ability would be particularly valuable to Chiefs' playing style.

"You know he comes from Sundowns who like playing the ball around. He is good in that and Chiefs need such a player who can help them build from the back and link up with their attackers. This could really be a good move for Chiefs (if they attempt to sign him)," the former Kaizer Chiefs assistant coach stated.
The 30-year-old joined Sundowns in 2020 from Black Leopards on a five-year deal which expired this June, and he is yet to sign a new contract despite earlier reports suggesting an agreement was close.
Mudau has established himself as an important figure for both his club and the South Africa national team, Bafana Bafana, making him a high-profile potential acquisition for any PSL team. Though, over the past year, Mudau has been linked with interest from Europe.
So, if he doesn't move to Europe, it would be surprising if he doesn't choose to participate at the highest level of football on the African continent, which is for a CAF Champions League club. At Sundowns he's had high-profile opportunities to compete for the top prize in Africa and also participate in the FIFA Club World Cup.
