Davids has been hard at work to strengthen his side ahead of the new season following a successful debut season with the Red of Msimbazi.
The former Maritzburg United coach led Simba to a runners-up finish in the Tanzanian Premier League and CAF Confederation Cup, and will be hoping to build a strong squad to challenge for league honours and CAF Champions League glory in the 2025/26 campaign.
While Davids has already secured the signing of Rushine De Reuck from Mamelodi Sundowns, previous reports also revealed that the 44-year-old was chasing Masandawana's Neo Maema for the upcoming campaign.
According to Foot Africa, Davids responded to the claims that he was only shopping for players in South Africa and said he was looking to add quality to his side.
"Quality players with (CAF) Champions League pedigree will always be on our radar," the former Orlando Pirates coach said.
He added: "We've identified specific targets and are working methodically to bolster our squad."

While Maema is currently preoccupied with national team duties at the 2024 African Nations Championships (CHAN), it remains to be seen whether Davids can finalise a deal for the Sundowns star.
