The story
Former Orlando Pirates youngster and Bafana Bafana winger Mohau Nkota danced the night away. He cemented his strong connection to Al-Ettifaq’s fans after scoring on his debut in the Saudi Pro League.
Al-Ettifaq outlasted Al Kholood 2-1 in the opening match of the 2025/26 Saudi Pro League season, held at the EGO Stadium in Dammam on Thursday night.
The 20-year-old Saudi star scored the first goal just seven minutes into the game with a well-placed left-footed shot from the edge of the box.
Ettifaq’s opponents equalised before half-time, with former PSG and Liverpool midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum finding the net after the hour mark, securing the victory for Al-Ettifaq.
In joyous post-match scenes, Nkota whipped out his best and proudly South African dance moves, much to the entertainment of the Ettifaq supporters who chanted his name.
