There’s no slowing down Lisakhanya Sithulweni, the electric left-winger from Cape Town Roses, who lit up the 2024 Engen Knockout Challenge for the second year in a row with her blistering pace, skill, and hunger for goals.
The 15-year-old from Gugulethu, who represents both the SA U15 national team and the SA CAF Schools Football programme, once again claimed a hattrick of major accolades, Striker of the Tournament, Player of the Tournament, and Top Goal Scorer, repeating her dominant feat from 2024.
Described by scout Gareth Ngaca as having the same killer instinct and football IQ as Portia Modise, Sithulweni is showing consistency well beyond her years.
“She’s got devastating pace and dribbling, but what sets her apart is her football intelligence and her eye for goal. She’s a natural,” Ngaca said.
Whether driving in from the left or hovering on the shoulder of defenders, Sithulweni terrorised opposition backlines throughout the competition. Her movement off the ball, awareness in tight spaces, and ability to find the back of the net make her a nightmare to contain, and a joy to watch.
Sithulweni is already a decorated talent on the youth circuit.
In addition to her Engen heroics, she also finished as Top Goal Scorer at the 2024 Champ of Champs and was crowned the Gugulethu LFA Junior Female Player of the Year.
