The Siya crew previously reported that the 28-year-old Stellenbosch FC star had attracted attention from the reigning Betway Premiership champions.
However, well-placed sources have since indicated that it is the growing interest from Egypt that has caught the player's attention more than a potential domestic switch.
Two unnamed clubs from North Africa are said to be monitoring Basadien’s situation closely. While he remains contracted to Stellenbosch at this stage, the club’s expected signing of a left back has raised eyebrows, a move often associated with preparing for a key departure.
Basadien enjoyed a standout 2024/25 campaign for Stellies, racking up 46 appearances across all competitions while scoring seven goals and contributing eight assists.
His performances have made him a prized asset during the current transfer window.
