Hunt To Reunite With Former Wits & SuperSport Star?

Newly-promoted Betway Premiership side Durban City are looking to strengthen their squad ahead of their return to the top flight. 

According to sources within the club, head coach Gavin Hunt has believed to have already identified several players he wants to work with, including a familiar face from his past coaching stints at Bidvest Wits and SuperSport United.

Ricardo Goss, currently on the books of Mamelodi Sundowns, has emerged as a key target for Durban City after spending last season on loan at SuperSport United.

"They are building a team that will have balance in all departments and want a strong and competitive goalkeeping department. That's why they are looking at bringing in Ricardo Goss from Sundowns. He has worked with Gavin Hunt both at Wits and SuperSport and he knows him," a source revealed to the Siya crew. 

Indications are that Goss could become available as part of Sundowns’ ongoing squad overhaul.

"You know Sundowns have Ronwen Williams, Denis Onyango, Jody February and Reyaad Pieterse in their goalkeeping department and after releasing Sanele Tshabalala, Ricardo Goss is the next and that will be a chance for Durban City to get him for free," the sources added. 

The 30-year-old Bafana Bafana goalkeeper made 16 appearances in the Betway Premiership last season for SuperSport, delivering consistent performances.
