The Confederation of African Football (CAF) released the latest five-year club rankings ahead of the 2025/26 CAF Champions League and CAF Confederation Cup draws. We take a look at Africa's top five.

The rankings are based on a points system across five years, starting from the 2020/21 period until the 2024/25 season.
Clubs are ranked according to their winning performances and consistency across CAF's two intercontinental tournaments, with points awarded based on the team's performances in the respective competitions.
Jose Riveiro will have big boots to fill as Al Ahly maintained their stronghold on first place in the rankings after the 44-time Egyptian Premier League winners scooped three CAF Champions League trophies in that time.
Mamelodi Sundowns jumped up two spots to second place for their consistent performances in the Champions League, including a runners-up spot in last season's CAF Champions League.
2024/25 CAF Champions League winners Pyramids just missed out on a top-five berth (6th), while Rulani Mokwena's MC Alger jumped into the top 20 to sit 19th.
Other notable team rankings include Zamalek (7th), Sead Ramovic's CR Belouizdad (10th) and TP Mazembe (14th), while there are a total of eight South African clubs to feature on the final rankings.
