According to BILD, Los Blancos are looking at bringing in UEFA Champions League-winning coach Thomas Tuchel to the Santiago Bernabeu should Ancelotti's erratic form continue. The German tactician has been out of management since September 2022 after being fired by Chelsea.
During his time in west London, the 49-year-old led the Blues to Champions League, UEFA Super Cup and FIFA Club World Cup glory, but, after falling out with numerous stars and the club's hierarchy, he saw his tenure in the English capital come to an abrupt end.
The former Borussia Dortmund head coach has been linked with many clubs, but is said to be waiting for the right opportunity before jumping back into the managerial hot seat.
The same report suggests that Tuchel is even taking the time out to learn Spanish during his hiatus in order to better prepare himself for a potential vacancy in the Spanish capital. The Real managerial position could soon be open after it was reported that Florentino Perez is becoming increasingly frustrated with Ancelotti's tactics and team selection.
The duo reportedly held an emergency meeting following Los Merengues' 0-0 draw against Real Betis in the league and as they trail bitter rivals Barcelona by nine points in LaLiga, the pressure surrounding the former midfielder continues to intensify.
The former AC Milan and Bayern Munich boss could salvage his season should the reigning European champions retain their crown but it will be a tough ask for the 63-year-old judging by his team's domestic form.
