The iconic Brazilian may soon sign for a new team, just six months after rejoining his boyhood club, Santos. The skilful attacker returned to Brazil following an injury-plagued spell with Saudi Arabian giants Al Hilal. Neymar spent a year and a half in Riyadh but managed to make only seven appearances for the club during that period.
This ultimately led to a mutual termination of his contract, and it is believed that his return to Santos was part of a plan to regain form with the aim of returning to Europe ahead of the 2025/26 campaign — in an effort to compete at the highest level in the build-up to the 2026 FIFA World Cup. Now, that plan may be materialising following his father’s recent comments.
Neymar Sr has confirmed that he and the player's representatives will travel to the United States to discuss a potential move with clubs currently involved in Europe’s elite club competition.
“This week, we’re going to Miami to talk to clubs. We have to listen to them and decide what we’re going to do,” Neymar Sr told L’Equipe.
“Yes, there are European clubs. Some are competing in the Champions League.
