The reigning Algerian champions will be aiming to secure the Ligue Professionnelle 1 title for a third successive season — a feat that would mark a first in the club’s history — in the upcoming 2025/26 campaign. With Mokwena now at the helm, hopes are high that he can guide El Mouloudia to this historic achievement, after his arrival was confirmed over the past weekend.
Wasting no time in reinforcing the squad, the club has announced the acquisition of right-back Aimen Bouguerra.
The 28-year-old joins the capital-based outfit on a free transfer after his contract with CS Constantine expired at the end of last season. Bouguerra has penned a three-year deal with MC Alger.
The defender's signing appears to be just the beginning, with fans eagerly anticipating further arrivals — most notably that of Youssef Belaili. Earlier this week, reports suggested that Mokwena’s CAF Champions League pedigree was a key reason for his appointment. Now, it seems the club views Belaili as a player capable of boosting their continental ambitions.

With Bouguerra already through the doors at the Stade Ali Ammar, El Mouloudia supporters will be hoping that Belaili will soon follow in his compatriot’s footsteps.
