Greenwood is on the path to getting his career back on track after he was accused of raping and sexually assaulting his girlfriend back in 2022, which led to his release by Manchester United.
The former Man United forward made the switch to France ahead of the 2024/25 season, and he enjoyed a successful stint with Marseille, leading the club back to the UEFA Champions League and finishing as joint-top scorer in Ligue 1 with 21 goals.
However, his form on the pitch has put him back in the football limelight and he has been endorsed for a return to the English top flight by English legend Paul Gascoigne, Daily Express reported.
Two English Premier League sides are reportedly interested in his services and the 58-year-old said it was time for people to put the past behind them and to allow him an opportunity for a return.
"If he went abroad and he's more comfortable coming back and with the goals he's scoring, then yeah, come back," Gascoigne said.
The England legend added: "I don't know if he brings quite a bit of baggage. [But] if you're going take a gamble on him, take a gamble on him. You have got to give him a chance, even if it's just half a game.
The former England international claimed there was no harm in allowing Greenwood to play friendly matches before teams decided whether to offer him a contract or not.

"Sometimes, with these friendlies, you can play 11 [players] in one half and then the other 11 in the second half. Give the guy a chance," he concluded.
