Former Orlando Pirates head coach Josef Zinnbauer is reportedly pushing for the signing of African star who has previously been linked with Kaizer Chiefs.

According to Africafoot, Algerian giants JS Kabylie are looking to secure the services of Simba SC attacker Jean Charles Ahoua — a move said to be at the special request of their German tactician. Zinnbauer has reportedly become fond of the Ivorian forward, impressed by his performances for the Reds of Msimbazi.
Ahoua enjoyed an impressive 2024/25 campaign, scoring 16 goals and providing nine assists for the Dar es Salaam-based outfit. His standout displays have attracted interest from numerous clubs, including the Glamour Boys, but it now appears that Zinnbauer’s Canaries are leading the race for his signature.
One key factor deterring clubs from making a late move for the player is his reported price tag. The same report claims that while Fadlu Davids’ side are reluctant to part with their talisman, they would consider offers starting at €540,000 (R11.1 million), and would also demand a 10% sell-on clause in any potential deal.
While Kabylie are said to view the asking price as steep, it is reportedly not beyond their means — provided that both Simba SC and the player are open to negotiations.

Kabylie narrowly missed out on the Algerian Ligue 1 title last season, finishing just two points behind eventual champions MC Algers. The potential addition of Ahoua is seen as a significant step toward bolstering their title ambitions for the upcoming campaign.
