Mokwena led his new side out for their first friendly of pre-season as The Mouloudia faced Tunisian Ligue 1 Professionelle side Olympique Béja as both sides looked to get their charges ready for the upcoming season.
According to Echorouk Online, the game's organisers stopped the match during the second half after police prevented Baja's fans from entering the stadium to watch the game.
The Doyen's management tried to get the game restarted but their efforts were in vain and the game finished 0-0 and it meant Mokwena's first game as MC Alger boss was deemed "incomplete".
In a statement, MC Alger clarified the circumstances surrounding the game and why it had been called off.

"The first friendly match of the MC in Tunisia stops in the second half, after the Bagian Olympian refused to continue playing the match, because the organizers refused to let Olympic supporters enter, which led to the Tunisian team to withdraw despite the insistence of the Algerian MC to continue the meeting, which was held in the Ain Drahm compound," the club said.
