The White Knights currently have an interim head coach at the helm. Ayman El Ramadi officially took charge of the North African giants shortly after the dismissal of Jose Peseiro and will oversee the final two matches of their campaign.
They are set to face Pharco FC in their final league match of the season before challenging for Egyptian Cup honours against Pyramids FC to close out the campaign. The five-time African champions are, however, in search of a permanent tactician to lead them into the 2025/26 season and beyond.
One name touted as a possible target is Mokwena. The 38-year-old recently parted ways with Wydad Athletic Club and is currently on the market.
While the Egyptian giants have been mentioned as a potential destination for the former Mamelodi Sundowns boss, according to reports in Egypt, his representatives are believed to have had no discussions with the club.
“Zamalek is a big name in Africa and the Arab world, for sure,” Mokwena's representatives, told Kora Plus.
