Barca President Joan Laporta explained the club would give the La Masia product 'special treatment' and reward him with a contract worthy of his performances.
Barcelona's 17-year-old star scored 18 goals and added 25 assists in 55 games this season, and has reportedly signed a new deal that will make him the third-highest-paid player at the club, according to El Pais.
The 17-year-old will reportedly sign a new €15 million (R304 million) per year deal once he turns 18 on 13 July and his contract also includes bonuses which could increase to €20 million per year (R406 million).
Yamal's new deal places him behind Polish striker Robert Lewandowski, who netted 42 goals in 52 games this season, and former Ajax Amsterdam midfielder Frenkie De Jong, who remains pivotal to Barca's midfield.
Ballon D'Or candidate Raphinha also penned a new deal to take him up the club's earnings list after his record-breaking UEFA Champions League campaign.
